Connect-Us Executive Director Pam Lewis is turning 60 this summer and she is raising $60,000 for Connect-Us!

Message from Pam:

I’m turning 60 on July 25 and I’m setting out to raise $60,000 for Connect-Us!  In honor of my 37 years of work in youth development, the first $37,000 donated to the campaign will be matched 100%, thanks to a generous donor. That means if you give $60, your contribution will be doubled for a total of $120 – or if you give $6,000, it will be a $12,000 donation!

I was a child of the ‘60s and this campaign is a celebration of the decade that shaped my hopes and dreams for the country and the world. I was so inspired by the leaders who sparked the Civil Rights Movement. It was people like Bayard Rustin, Fannie Lou Hamer, Dr. King, and so many others, who moved me to pursue a life of community activism. Over the past 37 years, I have worked with tens of thousands of young people from all over the United States and across the globe to create new performances in their lives and develop as leaders in their communities. I feel so grateful and so lucky that I’ve been able to spend my life doing this work.

This fall, Connect-Us will kick off our fifth year of programming. Your support will help us continue to create big stages for the young people in Bridgeport to perform on – spaces in their community where their voices are heard and where they can develop new skills to navigate their lives.
