Thank You FOR joining us for “BRIdgeport has a dream”!
“Bridgeport Has a Dream” is a free, youth-led, annual cultural celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., sponsored by Connect-Us. The 2025 show was attended by 350 people who came together to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King. The multi-racial youth cast paid tribute to Dr. King through song, rap, dance, poetry, and letters they wrote to Dr. King. Local community organizations, including the Greater CT Youth Orchestras, INTEMPO, K.E.Y.S., The Klein Dance Company, and Neighborhood Studios, are also participating in Bridgeport Has a Dream.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke at The Klein in 1961 and 1964. Thousands of local residents came out for his talks and joined the Civil Rights Movement. The podium he used when he spoke at The Klein has been refurbished and the students who are reading letters to Dr. King will be standing at that same podium during the show, sharing their dreams for the world, their country, and their community.
